Declining Soils & Yields

Methods used previously were organic but were not building the soil – thus plants were weaker, yields were lower and water consumption was higher.

Results

In the first year of soil restoration work new beds were established – all of which had great yields and minimal issues of pests. Existing beds were improved but still did not have solid yields and still had pest issues.

In the second year of soil regeneration work yields from older beds have improved, pests have declined further.

This project is ongoing and as of this point in time 20+ yards of compost have been made and added to the garden with an additional 12+ yards of mulch being added.
