The visuals helped tremendously! Now I can plan which aspects to take careful consideration to in the planning process! Thank you

I’m really excited but i’m also a little nervous and overwhelmed.
I live in the city and I don’t have any land… I’m a little lost in a lot of different areas of my life seeing as I don’t think I want to live in the city for much longer , but I do know that before I leave, I want to leave my mark and my goal is to try to get 5 root-top gardens set up before I leave. I guess I just uncertain how to take all this information and implement it into what I am going to do.

Hey Lorraine! I understand how it can feel overwhelming and that is totally normal! Here is my recommendation for how to proceed – pick a property or a place outside of the city that you have been to, or ideally can still go to, and imagine this place to be yours. Using this place, you can easily move forward exploring your vision or dreams, without having to struggle to imagine some unknown place, Make sense?

This is probably a good time to get out of the city as quickly as possible. I hope you are already out, or on your way out. Best luck to you.

I’m definitely looking at my site a little differently after this. I cant wait to start designing. there’s so many things i want to try and now my head is spinning with what i’ve already observed as possible obstacles and different ideas for solutions. i cant wait to start getting some of this down on paper!

Love the wide open aspect of the assignment, leaves lots of room for customization and imagination. This lesson is a powerful inspiration for dreaming about what ifs. Yay!!

How do we check off 1.5 as complete? I submitted my goals but it still only says 4/5 completed. Or do I even need to worry about that? Thanks

      Hey Justin!

So lesson 1.5 was replaced with this new “assignment” to allow people to upload the worksheet directly to the course dashboard, this was done AFTER you (and a number of others) submitted the assignment. So you can either ignore it OR re-submit it to have the lesson assignment marked as complete if it bugs you 🙂

The video to down load is the wrong one. The download was the welcome video. I like to down load, so I can watch a smooth video instead of all the pausing of a video over the internet.

    What is a viewshed?

    • Bret James says:

Hey Donna, A view shed is simply a view from a particular location. So for a house, maybe there is a deck that you enjoy and want the view to be open. Or maybe there is something you DON’T want to see like a neighbors house and want to then hide it from your view. So view shed is a design consideration that can help us make decisions. We’ll get more into this in the next module.
