Looking to lease or purchase land for your homestead or farm can SEEM overwhelming – afterall, if you choose the wrong place for your needs it can cost lots of time and money in the long run.

For example, imagine buying a piece of land to farm only to find out that its in a floodplain and un-suable for 6 months out of the year!

That is why it is so critical to do your work up front – which is simply educating yourself.

You see, every piece of land is unique and all have their strengths and weaknesses.

These strengths and weaknesses are in relation to YOUR goals on the land.

So, how do you become confident that you are making the best choice possible?

There are two steps:

1) Know what to look for
2) Know how to look for it

That’s it.

You don’t need to be an ecologist or permaculturalist, but you do need to know how to look at some very basic but very critical attributes of a property.

Things like soil, water, climate, power, access and more can be played to your advantage saving you a huge long term headache.

But how do you do that? What exactly do you look for?

You can get everything I have learned on looking for and evaluating land for your homestead or farm, all of my tools and tricks, in this easy to read eBook.

I’d have to say this was real useful for us when we were looking to find our place. We ended up avoiding a few places that were nice at a glance but after looking at them considering what this book talked about it was easy to see that these places had too many challenges. But I think we ended up with a place that will be perfect – good water, soil and plenty of onsite resources .
